Fashion Shows, Trendy Creators, Sustainable Development and Raising Funds for A Developing Country: India

June 29th, 2009 by helene

As a tribute to the 60 th anniversary of Emmaüs, the well-known French Charity - founded by the famous French priest called ‘L’Abbé Pierre’ in 1949, to provide homeless people with some help (a charity which is partly financed by the proceeds of jumble sales which are organized by a community of volunteers known as ‘ les Chiffonniers d’Emmaüs’) - a fashion show has recently been set up with the participation of young designers as well as the most famous  Southern enlightened one: Christian Lacroix, together with the also well-known fashion designer Stella Cadente.

They offered a show laying the emphasis on the fashion of the 60’s creating unique pieces with old pieces of cloth and clothes that they recycled for that great purpose: selling their Vintage Pieces thanks to an auction sale to raise funds for a specific programme offering microcredit for people living and trying to survive everyday life in India!

Have you heard about anything similar in your respective countries or regions, EYEbloggers? TELL US!

Even if most of you are on holidays now ( but French pupils are studying hard as they’re taking their final graduation exams from junior secondary school tomorrow and on Wednesday morning), don’t forget, you CAN WRITE and GO ON exchanging ideas as much as you want! This ‘EYEBLOG’ is yours, and will go on if you wish so… since many Eyebloggers expressed their wish to do so.

Some contributions are just prompts to broadcast news and ideas and get YOUR feelings and own ideas about them!

Bye for now, and really looking forward to reading your comments soon!
