A National European Day? ( Classes 3°A and 3°E)

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

As our town councillors have decided to set up a European day on May 9th for the very first time in our town in Saint-Paul-lès-Dax, as the town is looking for a twin foreign partner town, special activities are organized for primary pupils to secondary pupils from May 4th to May 9th.

Class 3°E ( unfortunately Class 3°A didn’t get the school’s autorization) will attend, on the very first day, a European rallye and will hopefully bring back some gifts as  souvenirs of that special experience where they also hope to talk about the EYEblog Multilaral Comenius Project, and their own involvement in it, all the more as Aline was lucky to attend the conference in Liskow.

On May 4th  there is a special evening for ‘VIPs’ and people actually working on developing or truly believing on a European sense of belonging of the town’s inhabitants.

On May 9th a special dinner is organized for people who are interested and who can afford it, starting with the European Hymn, a musical aperitive pause, and the meal which offers typical Spanish ‘Tapas’, ‘ Cod cooked in the typical way Potuguese people do it so famously and tastily, Dutch Cheese, Italian Tiramisu and coffee). It’s 13 euros for adults and 7 euros for children.

Of course as you may guess from the contents of the final dinner Spain, Italy and Portugal seem to rank first to offer a foreign partner town.

So Classes 3°A and 3°E wanted to ask all of you, dear EYEbloggers, do you have any event organized by your own town or region in terms of European belonging and developing?

Tell us! Can’t wait for your answers!
